The Yard POdcast
commission work

As part of my ongoing work with The Yard podcast, I was asked to design a limited-run postcard for their Patreon supporters, one that captures the absurd, self-aware humor their audience has come to love.

This piece parodies official gym ID cards, ranking two fictional “Yardigans” as the 17th and 24th strongest fans based on completely ridiculous metrics like “Hair: Thin (But Loyal)”. The goal was to create something that looked entirely real at first glance, fully immersed in the lore, yet revealed layered jokes and fan references the deeper you looked.

I handled the art direction, visual narrative, and full compositing of the scene. The design includes a detailed desktop setup with gym-coded props like chalk dust, a GameCube Controller, and a 65kg kettlebell, all rendered to feel photoreal and deeply Yard-pilled. The final postcard was color graded and halftone-textured to resemble a printed zine or a government-issued artifact, blending dead-serious presentation with completely unserious content.

This postcard builds on a larger body of visual work I’ve created for The Yard, including brand experiments, lore artifacts, and community-focused drops that bridge high-quality design with irony-heavy storytelling.
